The Benefits of Houston Dental Implants
Our Houston Dental Implant Treatment Process
Dental implants can seem like a daunting procedure, but Dr. Poreddy’s expertise and gentle approach will make you feel comfortable and educated at every step of the process.
01. Consultation & Exam
During this first appointment, Dr. Poreddy will examine your mouth, and take x-rays and other images to assess your oral health and determine if dental implants are the best option for you. If you’ve been missing teeth for some time and have experienced bone loss as a result, bone grafting may be necessary to make you a good candidate for implants.
02. Implant Placement
Once you’ve been approved for treatment by your implant dentist, and any preparatory procedures have been completed, you’ll have your implant placed. We will provide sedation options to ensure your comfort before surgically inserting the implant into your jawbone. The treatment site will heal in about 2 weeks, but it can take up to 6 months for the implant to fuse with the surrounding bone.
03. Placing the Restoration
After the implant has fully bonded with your jawbone, you will return to our office, and we’ll attach the abutment, which connects the implant to the restoration. After a short healing process of a few weeks, you’ll return one more time for the final restoration. In this step, the dental crown or bridge will be attached to the implant, completing the procedure. The replacement teeth will look like a natural tooth and feel like your own teeth, allowing you to chew, eat, and speak comfortably.
